Sensative leads the development of the shared intervention data platform, using Yggio to enable secure, privacy-preserving and interoperable mobility data sharing across cities.
Transformative business models for collaborative system transition
TAFS studied how organisations that depend on each other can build business models for a shared transition rather than optimising their own operations in isolation. Sensative took part as an industry partner, contributing the platform perspective on how data sharing between actors changes what business models are possible.
SID examined privacy-preserving techniques, among them differential privacy and federated machine learning, that let organisations gain value from shared data without exposing the underlying data itself. Sensative contributed the platform perspective: how such techniques can be applied where data is collected and integrated.
The project developed practical understanding of how interoperability between different IoT platforms can be achieved, tested through a pilot on energy consumption in buildings. Sensative participated with Yggio as one of the platforms in the interoperability work.
Letting property owners and energy suppliers balance the grid together
BUS built a data-sharing platform through which property owners can cut energy use while helping energy suppliers keep supply and demand in balance. Sensative coordinated the project, connecting building technology for both data collection and control of systems such as heating and lighting.
New sensor technology for distributed moisture and leak monitoring in buildings
A feasibility study into sensor technology that can detect moisture and leaks across a whole building rather than at a few chosen points. Sensative contributed its experience from Strips Drip leak-detection sensors already in production.
FLOW developed and tested ways to measure and classify traffic flows of pedestrians, cyclists and cars with privacy-preserving radar sensors instead of cameras. Sensative connected the sensors through Yggio so the municipality could use the data in its own planning.
A data workshop for agriculture and food production
ADW worked to simplify data sharing along the agricultural and food production chain and to promote data-driven innovation in it, with particular attention to compliance with data governance regulation. Sensative contributed sensor and platform experience from agricultural digitalisation.
The project developed an open alternative to the proprietary building automation systems that lock property owners to one supplier for the lifetime of a building. Sensative participated with Yggio and its sensors as part of the open stack.

More energy-efficient buildings through load balancing, low-voltage networks and smart control
ELLOSS explored how buildings can cut energy use and peak load by combining load balancing, low-voltage DC distribution and smart control of building systems. Sensative led the project, with Yggio as the layer that connects meters, sensors and building systems into one controllable whole.
Project lead: HS Hushållningssällskapens Service AB

Achieving 5G service Assurance in the Residential Domain
A5GARD developed technical platforms for more stable and predictable home network access, with welfare technology and elderly care as its driving application. Sensative contributed sensor and platform technology for services that depend on connectivity that keeps working.
An open testbed for the real-time controlled society
Lund Open Sensoring City built an open testbed where companies, researchers and the municipality could try out sensing technologies on equal terms, in a real city rather than a lab. Sensative supplied the sensors and Yggio, which made the testbed usable by many actors at once.
Fastighetsdatalabbet built an ecosystem and a national platform for sharing property data between actors in the real estate sector, growing from around 20 participants to more than 100. Sensative took part in the work on shared data models and APIs, including the RealEstateCore ontology.
Part of the Viable Cities programme, the project worked on how Lund can reach climate neutrality by 2030 and what role digitalisation plays in getting there. Sensative contributed the sensing and data platform perspective.
Putting AI into a horizontal IoT platform and a vertical property service
AIRE explored how artificial intelligence can be built into both an IoT platform and the property services that run on it. Sensative coordinated the project, which demonstrated AI-based quality assurance of sensor data and extended automation in Yggio, and validated machine learning for predicting building energy consumption.

Smart city technology applied to a ship
The Connected Ship built a digitalisation platform on board a vessel, bringing together ship systems and sensor data for energy efficiency, predictive maintenance and cybersecurity. Sensative contributed the platform and sensing layer, using the same approach as for buildings and cities on a moving asset.
A sensor in a field will eventually report something wrong, and a farmer acting on a bad reading loses real money. The project developed automatic qualification of sensor data, deciding which measurements can be trusted, with Sensative leading and Agricam as partner.
Security for edge networks in critical infrastructure
CRITISEC developed security products, services and standards for the edge networks that connect critical infrastructure, the heterogeneous mix of networks hanging off the edge of a core production network. Sensative worked on securing resource-constrained sensor devices, the hardest case in that mix.
Adapted infrastructure and service packages for farm digitalisation
The project built service packages around installation, operation and services for a digitalised farm, on infrastructure able to carry everything from high-rate camera streams to slow battery-powered field sensors far from the farmyard. Sensative ran the project, developing services and adapting sensors and cameras to what different farmers actually need.
Project lead: City of Stockholm, Development Administration
IoT for sustainable urban development in Norra Djurgårdsstaden
The project explored what IoT can do for sustainability in Stockholm’s Norra Djurgårdsstaden district, and what a city needs in place to run such systems itself. Sensative contributed sensors and Yggio as the integration layer.
Initiation project for digital infrastructure in Brunnshög
A short challenge-driven innovation initiation project run from Lund Municipality’s Brunnshög project office, exploring how the new city district could be built with digital infrastructure planned in from the start. Sensative participated as a technology partner.
The project established an open city sensor network in Lund based on the LoRa standard, the physical foundation that later smart-city work in the city was built on. Sensative participated as a sensor and platform supplier.
Smart public spaces in Lund and Malmö, where Yggio was built
SOM ran more than twenty sub-projects on connected sensors in an open network across Lund and Malmö, testing what IoT could do for municipal operations and public space. It is the project in which Sensative built Yggio, now used by cities across Sweden.
The project set out to establish an open platform with a public API so that service providers could develop digital services for smart apartment buildings without a separate integration for every property. It is one of the earliest expressions of the open-platform idea that became Yggio.
The project produced SHAPE, an open platform for intelligent apartment buildings, with prototypes showing lower investment cost, lower operating cost and reduced power use. Sensative coordinated the work, which let external service providers reach apartment sensors and controls through standardised interfaces.
One open platform instead of one integration per service
The project built an open digitalisation platform for public housing, combining open network infrastructure, a service platform and a business model to cut technology costs and open the door to new smart-home services. It is the earliest of Sensative’s funded projects and the origin of the open-platform thinking that became Yggio.
Reducing power consumption in video delivery networks
CONVINcE attacked the energy footprint of video distribution end to end, from head-end encoding through the network to the viewer’s device. Sensative took part in the Swedish half of the consortium with Vinnova funding, contributing low-power device experience.
