Background

Data in the food chain is generated by many small actors, from farms and machinery to processing, logistics and retail, and each link has different incentives to share it. Without agreed structures for what may be shared with whom, on what terms, the data stays where it is created.

Agrifood Data Workshop set out to make that sharing practical: common ways of describing data, clarity about the legal framework, and demonstrations of the innovation that becomes possible once data can move.

Sensative’s role

Sensative has worked with agricultural digitalisation since the Jordbruksverket-funded projects around the connected farm, and contributed that experience of collecting field data with low-power sensors and making it available through an open platform.

The project was funded through Vinnova’s Digital verkstad programme and coordinated by RISE.
