Background
A building’s energy cost is driven not only by how much energy it uses but by when it uses it. Peak loads set the tariff and strain the local grid, while much of the flexibility needed to flatten them already exists inside the building, in heating, ventilation, charging and hot water, but is controlled by systems that do not talk to each other.
ELLOSS (Energieffektivare fastigheter med Lastbalansering, Lågvoltsnät Och Smart Styrning) combined load balancing, smart control and a 48-volt micro-grid with solar panels, batteries and efficient electrical systems to cut both energy use and carbon emissions in municipal properties.
