While setting up your Strips sensor ensuring the correct placement is key to allow proper open/close reporting. Please visit the mounting guidelines for Strips Guard.
To sum up:
- You’ll need at least a 3mm gap to fit Strips
- 3mm-5mm between Strips and magnet is recommended
- The magnet should not be placed more than 10mm away from the edge of Strips
- Strips can be used in different kinds of windows & doors: double doors, sliding up windows
- Metal affects the range of the Strips therefore we do not recommend using Strips on a metal frame
- The two tapes that come with the Strips can be used for testing placement
- To un-mount Strips, use dental floss
