Door & window sensor

Strips Guard

The invisible door and window sensor: a 3 mm magnetic contact sensor with temperature, built for indoor and sheltered outdoor use, with over ten years on one battery.

Strips Guard is a patented magnetic contact sensor that reports when a door, window, gate or drawer opens or closes. At under 3 mm thick it disappears into the frame, so it suits listed buildings and design-conscious offices as well as plant rooms and sheltered outdoor gates. A temperature sensor comes as standard.

It can also run as a beacon that only transmits while the opening is open. That is useful with metal doors and windows, and for driving ventilation, heating or an alarm from the open/closed state. On a LoRaWAN network it reaches up to 10 km line of sight, and in Yggio the event can trigger any rule you like.

  • Invisible installation: Under 3 mm thick, it fits between frame and sash with its adhesive backing and stays out of sight.
  • Beacon mode: Transmit only while open: works with metal frames and gives heating, ventilation or alarms a live open/closed state.
  • Indoors and sheltered outdoors: IP67 and –20 to +60 °C, for sheltered gates, sheds and cabinets as well as offices and homes.
  • Over ten years, no maintenance: Built-in battery rated for over ten years, with temperature reporting included.
  • Strips +Clip: A mounting clip for Strips: holds the sensor close to rough surfaces such as concrete, brick or untreated wood where adhesive will not stick, and lets you move it without leaving a trace. Details
